Announcement of the Enrico Greppi Award for the Innovation in Headache Medicine
Call for Papers 2025 (April 23 - July 15 2025)

Confinia Cephalalgica is pleased to announce the Enrico Greppi Award (EG-Award), that, endorsed and funded by SISC, will be presented annually to promote excellence in headache research. The EG-Award will be granted annually to the best original research paper submitted under this specific call for submissions.

The EG-Award includes a € 5,000 prize, and public recognition through, in addition to the publication in Confinia Cephalalgica, the paper presentation to the annual SISC Congress - Parma, 6-8 November 2025.

Guidelines for Applicants

  • Original research papers submitted to Confinia Cephalalgica are eligible for submission to the EG-Award.
  • In 2025, the submission period opens on April 23, 2025, and closes on July 15, 2025. Papers submitted outside of these dates will not be eligible for consideration in this call.
  • The award will be granted to the first author of the winning
  • Each participant may submit only one manuscript for consideration in each call.
  • Manuscripts must be prepared according to the Author Guidelines for Confinia Cephalalgia. (https://www.confiniacephalalgica.com/site/about/submissions).
  • Submitted manuscripts will undergo the standard peer review process, and only papers accepted for publication will be considered for the EG-Award.
  • A panel of experts, designated by SISC, will evaluate eligible papers and select the final

Award Presentation

The awardee 2025 will be invited to present the paper at the 39th Annual SISC Congress (Parma, 6-8 November 2025). The SISC will cover expenses of the award recipient (conference registration, travel, and accommodation).

Confinia Cephalalgica, the official journal of the Italian Society for the Study of Headaches (Società Italiana per lo Studio delle Cefalee, SISC), is an online Gold open-access journal, which publishes original papers on the clinical, epidemiological, genetic, pathophysiological or therapeutic aspects of headaches.
