P076 | DOLOMY FIBRO® IN THE TREATMENT OF FIBROMYALGIA SYNDROME: CASE REPORT

Abstract
Background. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is unknown. It is believed to be multifactorial because several factors (biochemical, genetic, neurochemical, environmental, hormonal, psychological, etc.) are involved.
Methods. A 33-year-old female patient with fibromyalgia syndrome. Tests: Blood tests with inflammatory markers (ESR, CRP, C3, C4) and autoantibodies (ENA, ANA, p-ANCA), rheumatoid arthritis test: all negative. Clinical psychological interview + projective personality tests: anxious symptoms in a patient with a personality profile characterized by a tendency to project a conformist image of herself and to express her conflicts in physical forms. She responded positively to 6 out of 10 questions on the Fibromyalgia Syndrome Questionnaire (Decalogue). The patient kept a diary on her clinical evolution and, in particular, monitored her pain using the VAS (Visual Analogue Scale). Data on efficacy and tolerability were also collected. The patient was administered Dolomy Fibro capsules 1+1 capsules/day away from meals for 3 months.
Results. The patient reported a reduction in fibromyalgia symptoms, with elimination of asthenia and a 70% reduction in muscle tension, chronic and widespread pain, and hyperalgesia, as well as an improvement in sleep disturbances (Phase II). Pain intensity was significantly reduced (VAS: 9 at T0; VAS: 2 at T1 – 90 days). The patient continued therapy with Dolomy FIBRO 1 capsule/day.
Conclusions. As can be seen from the description of the case report, Dolomy FIBRO can be used in the treatment of the symptoms of fibromyalgia syndrome, even in the medium-long term due to its efficacy and tolerability.
